Billy Barn

Billy Barn was built in 1911 on the Wetmore family farm in Delaware County NY, by the area’s barn builder at the time, Billy Boggs.

This barn was producing milk until around 1976. The farm went under, the 400 acre was split up and sold. One parcel of 13 acres held the three barns and a carriage house. The medium-sized barn went down under the weight of three feet of spring snow in one night.

Billy Barn, as of 2015, now holds 2 live/work loft spaces for art, music and media productions. This barn has a footprint of 3000 square feet with 3 floors, making a total of 9000 square feet.

The ground floor holds a large communal kitchen for summertime operations, a woodworking shop and an audio studio for mixing and editing from music to film soundtracks.

The middle floor holds 2 live/work art and media studios.

The top floor is made into an open plan loft with two entrance ways and bathrooms for events like live performances (music, dance, stage)plus the occasional wedding.

The renovation of Billy Barn made its biggest improvement in 2021 when a new roof was put on after ripping off the old original cedar shingles roof and a metal roof was installed. An open two story hayloft was split in two by a floor installed by using engineered I-beams and plywood subfloor. The aim is to develop annual music, dance, theater and spoken word events for the future.
