My process, if there is one, is to allow and identify personal habits within my psyche and try to apply these as statements about the journey I travel. Subconscious suggestions are the many parts of which people are. I use Line, in many different forms, to build space in my paintings. I was born in Jamaica, WI, migrated to the US at 18, took drawing classes at The Art Students League and evening classes at Pratt Institute before joining the US Navy for 6 years, then started evening drawing classes at School of Visual Arts. The next year, I enrolled into the BFA program at SVA for painting. I have had studios in Los Angeles, Brooklyn NY and currently Delaware County NY, in a 1911 former dairy barn which is being converted into studios. The images here are without date, size or material and are not in any order as to when they were done. Together they represent a 'Now', culmination of a realization. all these paintings are done between 2013 and 2022 except for a figurative drawing and Degas copy painting were done in art school. I received a BFA in painting at School Of Visual Arts, 1982 and MFA, UC Boulder 1995.
